DocuWare announced today its acquisition of Branford, CT-based Westbrook Technologies Inc. Westbrook is an ECM specialist with a strong customer and partner base in North America.

The acquisition is a further step for DocuWare to substantiate its position as the leading, global ECM vendor for small and mid-sized companies. In 2012 Morgan Stanley became an investor to support the company's growth path.

Westbrook, like DocuWare, is one of the early pioneers in the market for document imaging and document management. Starting in the early 90's with products like Imagic and Filemagic, Westbrook is now a leading provider with its Fortis and Fortis Blue solutions.

The combination of both companies adds more than 1,500 Westbrook customers to an already sizable base of over 10,000 DocuWare customers. It also expands DocuWare's 500+ strong network of Authorized DocuWare Partners with over 40 experienced Westbrook resellers.

DocuWare President Thomas Schneck: "We are welcoming Westbrook's customers and partners and are committed to continue providing superior service and solutions to the Westbrook community. We will use the next weeks and months for a dialog with everyone to discuss how the combined entities can provide even more value and competitive advantages."

Westbrook Technologies Inc. will operate as a subsidiary of DocuWare.

DocuWare Corporation was advised in this acquisition by Xamcor, a M&A consultancy firm.

DocuWare (founded 1988) ranks among the world's leading Document Management software companies. The company operates worldwide from Germering near Munich and from New Windsor, New York with subsidiaries in the UK, Spain and France. Its products are available in 70 countries and 16 languages to over 100,000.
